Oregano Oil

Well after getting hit pretty hard with a cold and some wicked congestion this past week, it gave me a chance to try out some of my oils and see which ones would work best for me at this time. I really loved RC blend in the diffuser and in an ointment (can also be used 3 drops mixed into a carrier oil and massaged on the chest and back).
For Sleep, as usual, my favorite is peace & calming massaged on my feet and 1 drop on a cotton ball in my pillowcase, really helps me unwind and get a restful sleep.
New for me this week; was trying Oregano Oil massaged on my chest and back and throat for congestion. I was so excited to see first hand how great this really helped to clear my congestion, not to mention how great I smelled!lol
Oregano oil works on the immune system and the respiratory system.
Be sure to blend this well into a carrier oil as it can cause skin irritation and a burning sensation.

Mid Afternoon Pick~me~up

So the mid day time has come and you feel like reaching for a coffee......lets try something new.
1 drop of lemon on the palm of your hand, rub hands together, cup over nose and mouth and inhale deeply 3 times. This will cleanse the mind. Repeat same steps with Orange essential oils to bring a feeling of joy & peace. Now repeat same steps again, this time with peppermint essential oil, the peppermint will energize and help clear up a little mid afternoon brain fog, not to mention clear the sinuses!
(the only caution is that to remember that citrus oils are photosensitive, so you don't want the oils on the backs of the hands where they will be in direct sunlight.)
Give it a try! If you don't have these oils but would like to try this, I have these three essential oils available in trial size of 20 drops each, the cost for the triplet is $8.52. This would be enough to give you a mid afternoon pick~me~up each afternoon for the month.

Diffusing Essential Oils

Smelling the aroma of essential oils can have  a tremendous impact on the the emotions. Depending on the characteristics of each individual oil will determine what effect inhaling the aroma will have on the psyche. Each person's individual's likes and dislikes, thoughts at the time will have an impact as well.

Many oils are uplifting and give a feeling of peace  & joy, some are more grounding and calming. Essential oils can really have a profound impact on our emotions, the sense of smell has the ability to trigger many memories, it is a very individual experience.

A couple oils I personally really love are: Peace and Calming YL blend for relaxing and grounding and feeling peace and calm LOL. I like a drop on my pillow before I go to bed at night.
I also really like the YL blend of Clarity. I am not automatically drawn to the scent, however, I really like using it in the diffuser when I am reading or studying, it really helps me to stay focused!
There are certain oils I LOVE the scent and some I DON'T like at all. It really is a very personal thing. Always smell an il or blend if you can before making a purchase if you are getting it mostly for diffusing!

Wintergreen

This essential oils is a fantastic anti-inflammatory!! Has affinity with muscles & bones.
The aroma of wintergreen is strong and penetrating, very comforting. Great in a carrier oil for rheumatism, muscular pain, arthritis and inflammation.
This essential oil is found in blends for muscle pain such as Pan Away.

When I sprained my hip this summer I used Wintergreen topically for it's anti inflammatory action. I really found it helped give me relief quickly! Also great for sore neck muscles!

What is Raindrop Technique?

I am certified in the Raindrop Technique.
" This technique involves dropping the oils directly onto the spine from about six inches above the body. The oils are then worked into the spine using light strokes with the fingers, which stimulate energy impulses and disperse the oils along the nervous system throughout the entire body." "although the session only lasts about an hour, the oils will continue to work in the body for a week or more following the treatment."
(taken from Reference Guide For Essential Oils by Connie & Alan Higley)
The essential oils used in Raindrop are;
Valor, Thyme, Oregano, Cypress, Wintergreen, Basil, Peppermint, Marjoram and Aroma Siez.
This is an amazing Aromatherapy Treatment. I also offer Vita Flex Therapy on the feet, which is using the same oils via vita flex on the reflex points of the feet. This treatment is best with a full pedicure!
